My story
I was born in the Andaman Islands and spent my childhood in a village, exploring the forest, streams, ocean and mangroves, and learning about birds, snakes and everything else that lived there. I grew up in a small fishing town, and my interest in wildlife has been with me since those years.
After my studies I came to Havelock. After working here for a few years, I understood that my real interests were photography and wildlife conservation. So I started wildlife photography, and more recently underwater photography.
My first wildlife photograph was of a white-bellied sea eagle fishing in the mangroves. We threw out some fish, the eagle took it, and I captured the moment. That was the start. My interest kept growing after I bought my first camera. Since then I have taken up birdwatching and trekking, and I photograph the places and animals around me.
